From ‘Croker to the Black’

Philip Cathal Memorial walk

25 years ago Philip McGovern organised a walk from Dublin to Blacklion to raise funds for the club. In memory of Philip we have decided to retrace his steps and in doing so raise money for the club and the Men’s Cancer Alliance charity.

Starting on Thursday 2nd June at Croke Park, Dublin  a brave group of walkers will set out on a 4 day journey, hoping to reach Blacklion by Sunday 5th June.

We are currently looking for volunteers to take part in the walk (You can do the entire 4 days, or join us for part of the journey). We are also looking for people to help with bucket collections along our route and anyone that wants to help in any other way- no matter how big or small.

On the last day of our journey as we walk through the hills of Glangevlin, through Dowra and on for Blacklion we would love to see everyone join in for the final leg and help us reach that finish line.

As you can imagine there is a huge amount of planning involved in an event like this so it is extremely important that we know who is taking part and on which days. Please contact any member of the committee or contact us on Facebook.

Sponsor Cards and on-line donations will soon be available  Monies raised will be for Shannon Gaels and MCA – Mens Cancer Alliance Ireland.downloadcropped-208329_135925426478607_270125_n.jpg
