Litter Clean-up 24-25th April 2021

Shannon Gaels GAA is participating in a litter pick and general clean-up of accessible locations along the Lough McNean shoreline and catchment in the Blacklion area. This clean-up  is taking place over the weekend of the 24th and 25th April 2021.

We hope to get as many  club members, families, individuals and local groups as possible to participate in this holistic spring clean. You can target your own patch local to you in co-ordination with the club.

Litter picking equipment will be provided to all who partipate.  If interested please text Philip on 087-2932097 or email chairperson.shannongaels.cavan@gaa.ie

Participants are reminded to comply with the most up to date Government and HSE guidelines with regards to COVID-19 and social distancing.

This initiative is being coordinated by Catchment Care, Inland Fisheries Ireland and supported by Cavan County Council.

CatchmentCARE: Community Actions for Resilient Ecosystems

CatchmentCARE is an EU-funded project that aims to improve freshwater quality within the North Western and Neagh Bann international river basins. The project is focussed across three cross-border catchments, the Arney, Blackwater and Finn. The aims will be achieved through development of water quality improvement projects and installation of groundwater monitoring stations across the region.
