Pháirc Gaeil na Siónainne

Background

Pháirc Gaeil na Siónainne was opened in 1992 and the 500 seater stand was opened in 1999. Re-devopment of the grounds and the laying of a new pitch got underway in 2006 and on 27th April 2008 the redeveloped Páirc Ghaeil na Siónainne was Officially opened.

First Games & Official Opening April 2008

The first game played on the new picth was an U12 game on 24th April 2008 and Shannon Gaels were winners with Gavin Fee getting the first score on the new pitch.  Shannon Gaels Minor team made it 3 wins out of 3 games on the new pitch with a good win in the league over Dernacrieve Gaels on the day of the Official Opening 27th April 2008.

The Official Opening was performed by Tom Daly of the Ulster Council and Sligo got the better of Cavan in the Senior Inter-County Challenge game also played on the day.
